The Condors are back on home ice after a damaging three games in Alaska. The Boys win only one and lose two key players to injury, Kevin Kotyluk & Justin Quenneville. The third game of the weekend series was especially contentious. On a personal note, I have lost all respect for the Alaska Aces organization and everyone associated with them. January 7 & 31 are circled in red on my calendar.
Bako plays a solid first period this night, taking a 3-1 lead but fall apart defensively in the second, allowing 27 shots on goal. Regulation ends in a 4-4 tie. San Diego seals the win in the shootout, getting three shots past goaltender Davis Parley. The Condors fall to 2-2-1 on the season.
For the jersey collectors, Bako brings back the Army warm-up jerseys. We'll see if they throw on nameplates. There is room for them. The set 1 home whites are the same as last year, with a few tweaks, notably the heavier block lettering and a new sponsor patch.
